Friendship Retirement Community | Roanoke, VA | Spring 2012 | Group Project
Commissioned with a group of fellow students by the community's administrators to submit design improvements, we narrowed our focus to fostering community between the residents and improving the current facade. The balconied galss atrium space connects the residents from the independent living unit to those in the assisted living unit. It also serves as a new entry and face for the retirement community. The green walled cladding system reduces sumer heat gain and enhances the visual appeal of both units
